We calculated the environmental impact of adopting RENU based on the LCA reports of RENU’s partner mills.
The comparison is based on the greenhouse gas (CO2 equivalent) emissions and water consumption up to chip production at RENU’s partner mills and at the mills of its group companies that produce regular polyester.
The reductions are 59% in greenhouse gas (CO2 equivalent) emissions and 47% in water consumption.
Based on these figures, we calculated how much textile was used instead of disposed of (T-shirt equivalent), how much GHG emissions were reduced (car mileage equivalent), and how much water consumption was reduced (plastic bottle equivalent) when 10 tons of RENU yarn was used.
In recent years, we have been working to reduce our environmental impact by increasing the operating efficiency of our factories and increasing our annual production volume, and by introducing solar power generation in some areas and using renewable energy sources.
